Two people are dead after a crash late Monday afternoon in Dallas.

It happened just after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hampton Road and West Ledbetter Road.

Officers on the scene said two people died at the accident site. The Dallas County Medical Examiner identified the victims as Hilda Torres, 46, and Julio Lopez, 46.

Two others were transported to a local hospital. Witnesses said one of the injured was a little girl. No word on the condition of those victims.

Tikeya Smith works the drive through window at the Jack in the Box at the intersection and said she saw two cars racing.

"The cars that were racing didn't stop, so they hit the back of that car and made them fly into 7-Eleven and the light pole, hitting the parked Jaguar," Smith said.

Police are still investigating. Traffic was rerouted for a few hours, but started getting through slowly around 8 p.m.
