LeAnne Novacek, the wife of former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jay Novacek, was found dead Monday.

According to the Tarrant County medical examiner, Novacek's body was found in the bedroom of a home in Burleson just after 9 a.m. The Tarrant County Appraisal District said the home belongs to Sonia Lynn Gumfory, who is believed to be a relative of LeAnne.

Burleson police said Novacek died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning ruled officially that Novacek died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Jay Novacek played for the Cowboys from 1990-1995. Prior to that, he played for the Cardinals from 1985-1989. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
