Taylor Leads SFA to Win Over Abilene Christian

Hunter Taylor threw for 376 yards and four touchdowns as Stephen F. Austin defeated winless Abilene Christian 41-30 on Saturday night.

Taylor, who came in for the winning drive in the Lumberjacks 31-28 upset of McNeese State last week, hooked up with Nick Jones and Tamrick Pace for a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Pace was also his go-to man for the winning touchdown in last week's victory. Pace finished with five catches for 55 yards and Justice Liggins grabbed seven for 100 yards for SFA (3-1, 2-0 Southland Conference).

Storm Ruiz made two field goals and missed his first attempt of the season, a 36-yarder. He has made seven-of-eight field goal attempts this year.

Abilene Christian (0-4, 0-2), which took Houston Baptist into overtime before falling 27-24 last week, was led by Dallas Sealey who threw for 400 yards and three scores.

The teams combined for 979 total yards.
