Zoo Miami Welcomes Two Leopard Kittens, 4 Lion Cubs

There are two new female kittens and there are believed to be three male cubs and one female cub.

Zoo Miami is welcoming two highly endangered clouded leopard kittens and four lion cubs to the family.

The two female kittens were born March 13th to mother Serai and father Rajasi. It's the first successful litter for both parents.

The mother and kittens will remain off exhibit for several weeks until they are stable enough to be exposed to the public, Zoo officials said.

Meanwhile, lioness Kashifa is caring for four cubs who were born March 6th in a secluded den behind the lion exhibit. The cubs are believed to be three males and one female. The veterinary staff has not yet been able to examine the cubs because of the sensitivity of the area and the recent death of Kashifa's sister, the zoo said.
