Obama Picks Prosecutor Sarah Saldaña to Lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement

President Obama has picked Dallas-based U.S. Attorney Sarah Saldaña as the nation’s top immigration enforcer, the White House announced Thursday.

Saldaña, 62, has been chief federal prosecutor in the Northern District of Texas for just under three years.  She is the state’s first Latina U.S. attorney and would be the first Latina to run Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the government’s second biggest investigative agency.
