Fort Worth Councilman's Brother Killed in Car Crash

The younger brother of Fort Worth city councilman Joel Burns died in a car crash Saturday night.

Burns said his 27-year-old brother, Cody, died in a crash near his Stephenville home.

A report in the Star-Telegram said Burns and another passenger were thrown from a truck when he lost control of the vehicle and it flipped a few times.

The passenger is in critical condition.

Burns and the passenger were not wearing seat belt, Joel told the paper.  A third occupant of the vehicle, who was wearing a seat belt, had no serious injuries.

Burns' funeral is set for Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Crowley.  Burns will be laid to rest at the Crowley Cemetery.
