A former South Texas police officer has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for dealing in child pornography.
A federal judge in Del Rio sentenced 36-year-old Jason Lee Villasana, who was fired by the Sabinal Police Department after his late 2012 arrest.
Villasana last August pleaded guilty to distribution of child porn in a case going back to mid-2011.
Prosecutors on Thursday said Villasana received, stored and sent images and videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. His home was raided in November 2012 and several hundred images were confiscated.
Sabinal is 60 miles west of San Antonio.
