An off-duty Dallas police officer was punched in the face while trying to break up a fight in Uptown early Saturday morning.[[331891871,R]]
According to police, the incident happened at 2:35 a.m. while Dallas officers were working off-duty in the 2700 block of McKinney Avenue.
The officers, being in full uniform, tried to break up a nearby fight. One of the people in the fight then struck an officer in the left eye several times with his closed fist, police said.
The officers used mace and a taser against the man. He was later taken to a hospital for his injuries, police said.
The injured officer was treated at the scene by paramedics.
