A Dallas man initially charged in the fatal shooting of a passenger in his car has now been accused of killing his wife.
Dallas County jail records show Ranji Charles was being held without bond Wednesday on a capital murder charge in the June 29 slaying of his spouse.
Investigators believe Charles shot passenger Corey Shannon during an argument, dumped his body near a gas station and then robbed two people. Police say Charles went home and fatally shot his wife, Veronica Sauels, before fleeing and then wounding himself.
Bond remains at $500,000 for Charles on a murder charge in Shannon's death, plus $50,000 bond on an aggravated robbery charge. Dallas police on Tuesday announced the capital murder charge.
