Arlington Undergoing Construction Project to Bring 3,000 New Jobs, Become ‘Sports-Anchored Destination'

Arlington is making its push to be known as a “sports-anchored destination,” and that first stop includes the construction of Texas Live!

Texas Live! is a project beginning construction on Oct. 24 that will include “200,000 square feet of premier dining and entertainment space; a 5,000 a 5,000‐capacity outdoor event pavilion; a full‐service 300‐room convention hotel; and a 35,000 square foot meeting/convention facility,” a press release said.

The project site will be located in between the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Park and the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.

The expansive project is expected to bring more than 3000 jobs to Arlington along with 3 million new visitors, the press release said.

The Texas Live! website said the project is expected to pour in $100 million to Arlington and Tarrant County, and $2 billion in direct salaries during its first 40 years.

This project is another significant investment in an Arlington economy that already has tremendous momentum,” Arlington Mayor W. Jeff Williams said in a statement.

The dining and entertainment portion of the next project will open in the Spring of 2018 and the hotel and convention facility will open in the Fall of 2018, the press release said.
