AA Flight Attendants Warned To Prepare for Cuts

The union that represents American Airlines flight attendants is telling its members that job cuts may be on the way.

A hot-line message to AA flight attendants says management has notified union leaders that the company may need to reduce staffing by 200 to 400 flight attendants.

American has cut back on flights in recent months to deal first with surging fuel prices and then with a drop in passenger demand due to the global financial crisis.

American's parent company, AMR Corporation, will announce 4th quarter earnings on Wednesday, and analysts expect a loss of nearly 200-million dollars.
