Jim Carrey has a huge crush on Emma Stone and it's either funny, romantic or just plain creepy.
In a home video made in what appears to be the actor's living room, Carey unabashedly announces his love for the "Crazy Stupid Love" actress on his official website.
"Emma, I just wanted to let you know that I think you are all the way beautiful. Not just pretty, but smart and kind-hearted. And if I were a lot younger, I would marry you. And we would have chubby little freckle-faced kids," he said, speaking to the camera.
"We'd laugh all day long and go camping and play yahtzee and tell ghost stories by the fire. And sex…" the actor trails off, momentarily distracted.
But Carrey says there's only one thing stopping their happy future together: age.
"And every day, for the rest of your life, you would thank God that I was the appropriate age for you. But I'm not. I'm 49. I have lines on my face, sometimes a little gray in my beard, and it takes me a lot longer to pee than it used to…anyway I just wanted to let you know how I felt."
Carrey concludes his video address wishing Stone "continued success and artistic fulfillment, and most of all, I wish you love and contentment." He then mouths the words "I love you."
It's hard to tell how much the comedian is joking. Carrey is currently single; he's twice-divorced, first from former actress Melissa Worner in 1987 and then from "Dumb and Dumber" costar Lauren Holly in 1996. He was also briefly engaged to Renee Zellweger. Emma Stone is dating her "Spiderman" costar Andrew Garfield, Us Magazine reports.
But is the video romantic or creepy? The commenters on Carrey's site are definitely divided on the stunt, with some calling it a brave declaration of love and others thinking it was weird.
"I made a smiler video and got a restraining order," said David Strassman, a commenter on Carey's website.
