Remaining silos to be painted

Removal of the silos is expected to take several months.

Several pieces of Fort Worth history are being torn down.

Crews are working to remove 12 of 24 silos at the old Purina Mills plant east of downtown.

The demolition is part of a larger plan by current owner Land O'Lakes to maintain and improve the facility.

The remaining silos at the 96-year-old feed mill will be painted.

The work is expected to last into the fall.
