USC-Alabama to Meet in 2016 Cowboys Classic

It will mark the eighth edition of the Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium

It was announced Wednesday that the USC Trojans and the Alabama Crimson Tide will meet in the eighth annual Cowboys Classic at AT&T Stadium in 2016 in the continuation of a Labor Day weekend tradition that began in 2009, the first year football was played at JerryWorld.

This will mark Alabama’s fourth appearance in the Cowboys Classic. They played and beat the Michigan State Trojans 41-14 back in 2012, and will face the reigning National Champions, Florida State, in this year’s edition of the game. They will also participate in the Classic next year, when they face Wisconsin.

Southern California has yet to visit AT&T Stadium.

We’ve seen in the past that hosting ‘Bama and their fans is good business for Jerry Jones and AT&T Stadium. The current attendance record for the game came in 2012, for the aforementioned 'Bama-Michigan State matchup, when over 90,000 people were on hand.
