Romo, Woods Teeing Off At Pebble Beach Pro-Am Today

The pairing of Tony Romo and Tiger Woods are set to tee off around noon Thursday

Tony Romo is proving quite the attraction as he and Tiger Woods prepare for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

According to a report in the Dallas Morning News on Thursday, Romo was met by a fairly sizable group of fans and autograph seekers when he finished his practice round at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club on Wednesday. He and Woods will begin their quest for victory today, but have reportedly been speaking to one another in anticipation of the tourney for some time now.

“We just talked from time to time,” Romo said. “I told him I was coming out here to play and asked if he was going to be playing in it. He just got back to me, and he was excited about it and I was too. We’re out here playing. It’ll be a fun week.”

Woods, meanwhile, has spent the week lauding the athletic prowess of the Cowboys’ quarterback.

“He’s played. He grew up playing the game of golf, and that helps,” Woods said of Romo. “He’s, as we all know, a hell of an athlete. He can play just about any sport he wants. He’s one of those gifted athletes that whatever he picks up, he can do.”

The pair will tee off around noon today.
