Rangers Have Right Guy on Hill for Series Win

If the Texas Rangers are to secure a series victory over their arch rivals in the AL West on Wednesday night, they're going to need a big night from ace pitcher Cole Hamels.

In all honesty, there is probably no one the Rangers would rather have on the mound, especially given his recent track record.

Despite a subpar outing by his standards his last time out — a no-decision his offense got him off the hook in — Hamels pitched, and the Rangers won. That trend has dated back to last season shortly after he was acquired at the trade deadline.

Hamels is now 9-0 with a 3.16 ERA in his last 13 starts, and you guessed it, the Rangers are 13-0 in those starts.

If that number improves to 14-0 on Wednesday, the Rangers are going to happy with the fact they've fired the first shot in what is going to be a heated season series against the other team seemingly a part of the two-horse race for the AL West crown.
