Dez Bryant to Grace the Cover of Rolling Stone

Bryant is coming off his fourth season in the NFL and his first All-Pro campaign

Dez Bryant’s plan to grow his crossover appeal appears to be going well.

The Dallas Cowboys All-Pro receiver, who joined Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports last November, told reporters in Oxnard this week that he will be on the cover of an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone. The issue doesn’t have a concrete release date (that we know of), but we’d assume it’ll come out at some point between now and the beginning of the NFL season.

So what’s the cover story about?

It’s about me branding myself and being an icon for these kids,” Bryant said, per Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News. “I come from dirt, and every day I’m writing my story and it’s getting better.”

In speaking further about the Rolling Stone cover story about him, Bryant insisted he’s still not a celebrity.

“I’m not a celebrity, man,” Bryant said. “God blessed me with a gift and I’m trying my best to take full advantage of it each and every day, and try to stay as positive as I can because I know young ones are watching me, including me own.”
