Darvish Officially Cleared of Any Gambling Tie

When Sho Darvish, the brother of Rangers ace Yu Darvish, was implicated in a gambling ring in Japan recently, it raised the eyebrow of Major League Baseball and the heart rate of Rangers fans everywhere because of what that accusation could've meant for the Rangers' No. 1 starter who missed all of 2015 with Tommy John surgery.

Turns out, we had nothing to worry about.

Darvish was officially cleared of any involvement by Major League Baseball after they conducted an investigation into Sho Darvish's ring, which accepted bets on both MLB games and Japanese league games.

Yu Darvish was never suspected of any wrongdoing by Japanese authorities but it's MLB protocol to investigate any alleged tie between its players and gambling. Shortly after it was announced he'd be investigated, the Rangers pitcher released the following statement:

"While I understand that Major League Baseball must conduct an investigation, I am certain that they will find that I had no involvement in this matter whatsoever," Darvish said.

So there you go, there's no reason to worry about a lifetime ban for Darvish from baseball. Thank goodness.
