Perry Raises Funds in North Texas

Gov. stopped in Plano, Dallas to raise donations

Home is where the heart is -- it's also where the rich donors live.

Rick Perry took a break from campaigning in Iowa and New Hampshire to raise money in North Texas.

Perry had one event in Plano and another event at Dallas' Crescent Hotel on Tuesday. The Dallas event was co-hosted by deep pocketed donors like Jerry Jones, Tom Hicks, Ross Perot Jr and Harriet Meyers.

Folks wanting to rub elbows with the Governor had to splurge -- the minimum ticket price was $1,000. Sponsorships were also available for $25,000.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal were headliners for the event.

Perry will most likely use the money for air time for campaign ads in Iowa and New Hampshire and other campaign expenses.

Perry will be in Iowa for Thursday's Fox News debate.
