Website Ranks Austin as 3rd Best US Place for Video Gamers

A personal finance website is ranking a Florida city as the nation's best place for video gamers with Texas' state capitol coming in third.

WalletHub said last week that Orlando's number of video game stores per-capita and its number of arcades helped push it to the top of the list for the 100 largest cities in the nation.

Rounding out the top five were Seattle, Austin, New York and Atlanta.

Despite having a newly opened free-play arcade, Arlington only ranked 57th on the list. The city with the original Free Play location, Richardson, didn't rank in the top 100.

Elsewhere across North Texas, Plano was tops at No. 22 followed by Dallas, Garland, Irving, Fort Worth and Arlington.
