Two Fort Worth Police Officers Fired

In separate incidents, officers accused of driving drunk and bringing contraband into prison

A Fort Worth police officer was fired Tuesday for allegedly trying to sneak prohibited items into a federal prison where her brother was an inmate.

Officer Lucreshia Carey, 22, wore her police uniform to the prison in an attempt to influence the warden to allow the visit, police said.

Police did not reveal what it was she attempted to bring into the prison.

The FBI also is investigating.

In a separate incident, interim Police Chief Patricia Kneblick also fired Officer Guillermo Hernandez Thursday.

Hernandez, 40, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in May in the 4700 block of Boat Club Road.  Those charges are pending.

Both terminations were announced on Friday.
