Richardson Shooting Suspect Yells ‘I'm Sorry'

An officer and civilian were fatally shot by a gunman who barricaded himself inside a Richardson apartment Wednesday, police say. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots coming from inside the complex, while officers kept residents inside their units for their safety. Richardson Police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Perlich said the fallen officer was rushed to Medical City Plano, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the officer and the civilian have not been released.
