Police said they arrested a man Friday suspected of killing a 53-year-old bicyclist in a hit-and-run crash in Red Oak.
Red Oak police said they responded to a call about the crash in the 2600 block of Ovilla Road at 11:24 p.m. Aug. 7 and found the victim lying in a ditch near a bicycle.
The victim — later identified as Albert Record — was transported to Parkland Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said he was pronounced dead Tuesday.
Investigators said evidence at the scene led them to 38-year-old Stoney Jewell Ellis, whom officers arrested Friday morning.
Ellis is being held at the Red Oak City Jail.
