The plan to link Dallas and Houston with a high-speed train is taking another step forward. Texas Central is scheduling a number of public hearings across the state to discuss the project.
The train travels nearly 200 mph and could make the trip from Dallas to Houston in about 90 minutes.
The privately held company will hold open forums to discuss the trains, the land access and the estimated $10 billion economic impact the rail line could bring to Texas.
Nearly a dozen open house meetings have been scheduled across the state between Dec. 1 and Dec. 11, where company representatives will be available to discuss the proposals.
