Local Men Charged in Sexual Assault Cold Case

Dallas police say two North Texas men have been charged for sexually assaulting a woman eight years ago.

According to a police statement, the arrests came after officers from the department's Cold Case unit tested hundreds of previously untested assault kits.

Mark Norton, 42, and Christopher Davis, 44, were arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a woman inside Davis' home, the statement said. The woman had been intoxicated and incapacitated at the time of the assault, according to the statement.

Police said Norton was arrested Wednesday and held at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center on a $150,000 bond. Davis had been incarcerated in state prison for several counts of child pornography and four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to police.
