Dallas firefighters battled an intense fire in Oak Cliff Wednesday morning after a man used a fire pit to warm himself in a detached garage.
The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. at a home along the 200 block of E. 6th Street.
From Texas Sky Ranger, flames and thick black smoke could be seen coming from the garage as firefighters worked quickly to get the fire under control.
DFR said Wednesday afternoon a man who lived at the home was working in his garage and brought in a portable fire pit to keep warm.
The man left the garage to go inside the home and the garage caught fire.
The man was able to escape injury.
