A 71-year old woman died in a Haltom City apartment fire early Monday morning.
Firefighters arrived at the complex in the 4800 block of Waldemar Street, just three minutes after the first calls for help but found the apartment fully engulfed in flames.
Neighbors say they tried to reach the woman but the blaze was too intense.
The victim, Barbara Harrison, a retiree lived in the apartment alone, according to a relative.
Investigators are checking on the cause of the fire but say the fire appears to be an accident.
