Three Suspects in Custody After Colleyville Heritage High School Lockdown

An 18-year-old male, who was not a student, was found and detained at the high school along with two juvenile CHHS students.

Colleyville Heritage High School was put on lockdown Tuesday after a handgun on campus was located.

Shortly after 5 p.m., Colleyville police allowed the school to proceed in a controlled dismissal. No students were harmed.

An 18-year-old male, who was not a student, was found and detained at the high school along with two juvenile CHHS students. All subjects were searched and no weapons were found. 

After a search on the campus, a handgun was located inside one of the student’s vehicles. The 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with Trespassing on School Grounds and Places Weapons Prohibited. In addition, one of the students was taken into custody and charged with Places Weapons Prohibited.

“We take these incidents very seriously and will use all of our resources to ensure our schools are safe for students and staff.” the Colleyville Independent School District said in a press release.
