Car Hits, Kills Homeless Man Under Houston Span During Rain

Houston police say a suspected drunken driver has been charged in the death of a homeless man who was struck and killed while under a bridge during a storm.

Police say 33-year-old Jamie Dorn was being held on a charge of intoxicated manslaughter following the accident before dawn Tuesday. Dorn was not hurt in the wreck.

Investigators say a car was making a turn when the driver lost control, the vehicle jumped the curb, went under an overpass and hit a homeless man. Authorities believe the victim, whose name wasn't immediately released, had sought shelter during a rainstorm.

Online jail records do not list bond or a defense attorney to comment about the case.
