Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run

A 54-year-old bicyclist died at the hospital from injuries suffered during a hit-and-run early Tuesday in Far East Dallas.

The incident happened at about 12:40 a.m. in the 2600 block of Crest Ridge Drive, near Shiloh and Gus Thomasson roads.

A witness saw the man laying on the road beside his bike, according to a police report. 

The victim was taken to Baylor University Medical Center and died two hours later, according to the report. Authorities are trying to reach the victim's family before releasing his name.

The witness spotted a black Ford SUV fleeing the scene. The SUV was last seen heading eastbound toward Shiloh Road.

At this time, no arrests have been made connected to the hit-and-run.
