SWAT Ends Garland Standoff Peacefully After Man Barricades Self in Home

A standoff with an armed man accused of opening fire during an argument Wednesday morning has ended peacefully, Garland police say.[[479400533,R]]

Officials said police were called to a shooting shortly before 9 a.m. that stemmed from an argument between a couple in the 300 block of Joyce Drive where a man pulled a gun and shot at a woman multiple times as she tried to drive away.

Her vehicle was struck once, though she was not injured.

Video from Texas Sky Ranger showed armed SWAT officers surrounding the one-story house where the man barricaded himself until around noon when the man was taken into custody.

Further details about the end of the standoff have not yet been confirmed.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. The couple has not been identified.
