Icy Road Conditions Making Driving Hazardous This New Year's Eve

Scattered reports of wet and icy roads greeted North Texans on Sunday morning along with the promise of colder weather to ring in the New Year.Numerous crashes have been reported on area roads from Fort Worth to Denton to Frisco. Authorities are urging motorists to use caution, particularly on bridges and overpasses.Temperatures hovered around 30 degrees just after 9 a.m. but are expected to drop during the next few hours. Drizzle and light rain were reported throughout the area. Fannin County residents woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground."We had a lull in the morning, but it's starting to pick up quite a bit, especially in Tarrant County currently moving into Dallas County," National Weather Service meteorologist Juan Hernandez said of the precipitation.  Continue reading...
