Dallas Protesters Call on Sen. Cornyn to Consider the People Affected by Health Care Plan

Though doctors told her she'll always deal with excruciating pain, Margaret Cantu can find moments off relief thanks to prescription medication she gets through Medicare. The Princeton woman, who broke her back in 1990, keeps track of just how much medication she's taking every day on a bedside whiteboard to make sure doesn't overuse it. But, she says, she still she has to cut her pills in half to make them last through the month until she can get a refill. “Nothing is helping. How the hell do they expect me to have a decent life?” Cantu said through tear-filled eyes. “I cannot even go in my garden to water my flowers without pain day in and day out, 365 days a year.”  Continue reading...
