4,000 Pounds of Marijuana Disguised as Key Limes Seized at Texas Border

Officials at the Texas-Mexico border seized about 4,000 pounds of marijuana hidden in a shipment of key limes.U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents found the lime-shaped bundles of drugs in a commercial shipment Jan. 30 at the Pharr International Bridge, near Brownsville. Officers using a team of drug-sniffing dogs and nonintrusive imaging scanners to find the drugs after the tractor-trailer was referred for a secondary inspection, according to a statement from the agency.There were 34,764 packages containing 3,947.37 pounds of marijuana, according to the statement.  Continue reading...
