Score Designer Duds on the Cheap

Mandy Moore won't be there -- but you could find some great deals on designer clothing and other normally expensive items.
Collin County's Star Children's Charity is hosting the Star"Dust" Designer Boutique next weekend. The boutique is a fundraising event where discerning shoppers can score new and gently used designer handbags, evening gowns, shoes, jewelry and even home decor for a fraction of their retail value.
By reserving a VIP ticket prior to the show, shoppers can hit the racks Thursday evening during a Ladies Night Out VIP Preview from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Boutique then opens to the public on Friday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Public admission to the boutique on Friday is $25. Door prizes tickets are also available for $25 each or five for $100 -- prizes include vacations, spa treatments, jewelry and more.
VIP Tickets are $100, but with the VIP admission price shoppers will also be given two door prize tickets worth $50. Beyond getting the first crack at designer duds, each VIP guest will have an ultimate shopping experience including their own Star stylist to assist in shopping. VIPs can also enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or specialty cocktail while perusing the deals.
New items will be available from Elements, Envy Couture, Nordstrom and others, all of which will donate 25 percent of sales to Star Children's Charity.
All admission proceeds will directly benefit Star Children's Charity, who provides financial support to various Collin County agencies whose mission is to serve the needs of children and families.
