Dallas Man Charged with Murder in Fatal Assault

Dallas police arrested a man and charged him with murder in connection with the fatal assault of another man earlier this month.

Police said 57-year-old Frank Blaes assaulted 58-year-old Jerry Norman at about 1 p.m. Nov. 18 in the 5200 block of Harry Hines Boulevard.

Norman was hospitalized until his death Nov. 22.

On Nov. 23, Dallas police arrested Blaes and transported him to the homicide unit for an interview. Blaes waived his Miranda rights and confessed to his role in the assault that led to Norman's death.

Blaes was charged with murder and is being held on $250,000 bond.

Police have not said what led to the assault or released any further information.
