Car, DART Train Collide in Downtown, Stalling Rail Service

Service to resume once car removed from tracks

A crash involving a DART train and a car  shut down rail service in Downtown Dallas for a short time Wednesday morning.

DART said the crash took place near the St. Paul Station when the driver of the car tried to beat the train.

Rail service was suspended in Downtown Dallas while the crash scene was cleared and the car removed from the tracks.  Service was restored at about 9:10 a.m., though DART said riders will experience some delays.

DART said there were no injuries in connection with the crash.

In a separate issue, the DART Green Line is running 10-15 minutes behind schedule due to a signal problem.
