Farmer's Branch police said a contractor for the building was inside the pump room and was trying to head down through an access hole before he fell 9 to 10 feet.

He received non life threatening injuries to his lower body, which did not allow him to climb out of the hole on his own power.

The worker was removed firefighters and transported to an area hospital.

The complex where the worker is trapped contains some office buildings an a large hotel, according to firefighters.

During the incident, Farmers Branch firefighters requested assistance from the Coppell Trench Rescue unit to free the worker.
