Elton John got a blue jean baby of sorts as a Christmas present this year.

The famed singer and piano player and his partner David Furnish became parents to a 7-pound, 15-ounce boy on Christmas Day, reported US Magazine.

Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born in California via a surrogate whose identity is being withheld for privacy reasons.

This is the first child for John, 62, and Furnish, 48. The couple entered a civil partnership in 2005 after spening the previous 12 years together. In 2009, they attempted to adopt a boy from Ukraine, but were denied by that country's government because the couple was not legally married and John exceeded the age limit allowed for adoptions.

In a joint statement, John and Furnish told US that, "Zachary is healthy and doing well," and that they were "overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment."
