Davon Coleman Dealing with Strained Calf

Coleman was injured in the weight room earlier this week

Cowboys defensive tackle Davon Coleman suffered a calf injury in the weight room this week, but neither he nor the team believe it’s anything serious.

“I’m happy it happened in the weight room and not the field--it’s not too serious,” Coleman told the team’s official website.

Coleman, an Arizona State product, has three tackles on the season--two in the opener against the 49ers and one in last week’s victory over the Titans in Tennessee. He was seen on crutches earlier this week, but having spoken to head trainer Jim Maurer, Coleman doesn’t anticipate missing much time.

That said, he could miss this Sunday’s matchup with the Rams.

“Me and Jim talked about it, he said it won’t keep me out that long--I’ll probably play this week,” Coleman said. “Just doing the right things to get as soon as possible.”
