As many students celebrate the lack of classes, parents and school officials are growing concerned with just how much lessons are being missed due to the winter weather. NBC 5’s Wayne Carter has more.
The storm that brought a Winter Storm Warning and Ice Storm Warning to North Texas this week has moved on to the east and has been replaced with sunshine and milder weather that is melting the ice and thawing roads.
As temperatures dropped below freezing again overnight Thursday, leading to concerns that slushy roads would refreeze making driving dangerous, many North Texas school districts canceled classes Friday or opted to go with a delayed start.
