Another misstep on the campaign trail for Gov. Rick Perry.
While stumping for votes in Spencer, Ia., Perry promised to cut $5 trillion from President Barack Obama's proposed budget on Saturday, according to the Des Moines Register.
That sounds great, but there's just one problem, the president's budget only calls for $3.7 trillion in spending.
Perry's campaign spokeswoman said after the event that Perry was referring to a cumulative $5 trillion from fiscal year 2014 to fiscal year 2020.
Perry's mistakes during his campaign for president have been punchlines for late night comedians.
It all started with his famous Nov. 9 debate gaffe, forgetting one of the government agencies he would eliminate if he gets to The White House.
On Nov. 29, Perry got not only the date of the 2012 Presidential Election wrong, but also the voting age.
In South Carolina on Dec. 8, Perry mistakenly said the United States was involved in wars in Afghanistan and Iran, instead of Iraq.
On December 9, Perry forgot the name of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor during an interview with the Des Moines Register.
Perry put out an ad referring to his "oops" moment. The Leno Ad tells voters if they want a slick debater, Perry "obviously is not your guy."
