The family whose silver flying object (perhaps designed off of a Jiffy Pop cooker) has been all over the airwaves Thursday, has a Connecticut connection.
The Heene family was on the ABC show "Wife Swap" with a Connecticut family, the Martels.
Producers set up the episode as a family that lives "life on the edge" meets a family of safety-conscious Nutmeggers.
According to the show's site, Jay Martel is so committed to safety that he runs a child-proofing business. His wife, Karen, swapped places with Mayumi Heene for a week.
"[Karen Martel] is shocked as the Heene kids jump off banisters and run wild," explains an episode guide.
The episode aired in October 2008. Almost makes us wish we watched it.
