Work is underway to restore the Baker Hotel and make the Mineral Wells landmark into a premier resort destination once again.

The check-in desk still features the slots for keys and mail for each of the 165 guest rooms. Thre is a famous picture of Judy Garland checking in to the hotel at this very spot.

Lobby art and medallions featuring the Archangel Michael have been preserved. In the 1920s they didn’t have fiberglass so they used horse hair to reinforce the plaster.

The grand main entrance door to the T.B. Baker Suite. Doors are organized by width and swing. 848 doors have been saved and many will be reused. Some don’t meet fire code but will be salvaged in other ways.
