Fallout from the decision to end Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood in Texas continued Tuesday.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins is blasting the move. He spoke about the issue during Tuesday's County Commissioners Court meeting.
Jenkins said the loss of the funding could result in “illness” and even “death” for some Dallas County residents.
He said low-income women who depend on Planned Parenthood for cancer screenings and other preventative care are going to suffer.
“Millions of dollars that help people get care are going away,” Jenkins said.
The decision comes after undercover videos, allegedly showing discussions about the sale of fetal tissue at Planned Parenthood, surfaced.
Gov. Greg Abbot has ordered a full investigation into the videos.
