The U.S. Coast Guard rescued seven people, including three children, from a sinking boat in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Coast Guard said in a statement that the boat was about 20 miles southeast of the Cameron Jetties, near the Texas-Louisiana border, when people aboard made a distress call around 8 p.m. Thursday. A man on board said the 31-foot boat was taking on water.
Rescue boats and helicopter crews responded and rescued all the boat's passengers.
A 53-year-old man was taken to a hospital with medical complications.
No further details were immediately available.
