Train Kills Man Who Reportedly Jumped Onto Tracks in Denton

A man was hit and killed by a train Monday afternoon in Denton.The victim, who has not been identified, was struck about 4:45 p.m. on the Union Pacific tracks that cross Roselawn Drive, Denton police say.A witness called 911 to report seeing someone jump in front of the train. The caller said the engineer sounded the horn but could not stop in time.First responders searched the area and found the body "about halfway down the train," police say. The Denton Record-Chronicle first reported that the man had gone under the train.
