Texan Arrested in Manhattan Hid Ammunition-stuffed Condoms in Toothpaste Tubes, Authorities Say

An Irving man who was arrested in Manhattan Monday afternoon had several weapons on him and hid ammunition-stuffed condoms in toothpaste tubes, authorities said.Port Authority police on duty at a bus terminal near Hell's Kitchen in New York City investigated the man who was acting suspiciously and was suspected of smoking marijuana in public at Dyer Ave and West 41st Street, Port Authority police spokesman Joseph Pentangelo said. "He made some statements that were rather alarming," Pentangelo said. An officer discovered that the man, 30-year-old Amos J. Stowers, had a loaded Kel Tec 9 mm pistol, a switchblade knife, a folding knife and 106 rounds of ammunition, police said.  Continue reading...
