Dallas police said one of their officers is recovering after being involved in a wreck early Thursday morning.
The officer was stopped at a red light in the 9700 block of East Northwest when another driver crashed a Chevrolet Suburban into his squad car at about 12:40 a.m., Dallas Police Department spokesman Colton Johnson said.[[297634121,C]]
Johnson said the officer was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
Police said the driver, 28-year-old Jose Rey Chavez-Nino, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
