Overturned 18-Wheeler Blocks Ramp to Southbound Interstate 35E in Dallas

An overturned 18-wheeler caused major delays near downtown Dallas Thursday morning.

First responders were dispatched about 5 a.m. to the exit ramp from westbound Interstate 30 to southbound Interstate 35E, where a semi turned on its side.

The big-rig was righted and hauled away by about 7:30 a.m.

As of 9 a.m. crews were still clearing the cargo that had spilled onto the roadway. Dallas sheriff's deputies said a hazardous materials cleanup crew was called to clear oil that had spilled onto the roadway and the grass underneath the ramp bridge.

The ramp to northbound I-35E reopened at about 7:30 a.m.

It's not clear when the ramp to I-35E south will reopen.
